STUDENT LEADERSHIP SPIRIT DAY

Thursday, June 20 will be Career Day - Dress like what  you want to be when you grow up.

Thank you Parents for Volunteering

On behalf of students and teachers at Mayland Heights, we want to thank all our parent volunteers who have accompanied us on Field Trips,  helped out with Teacher’s Pet and Sports Day!  Without your help we could not have done it!  Merci beaucoup!

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found items will be on display for the last two weeks of school so that students may claim their personal belongings before the end of the school year. Please remind your child to look for any jacket, lunch kit, shoes or sweater they may have lost at school.

All unclaimed items will be donated on June 27th.

PAT - Provincial Achievement Tests (Grade 6 English only)

Provincial Achievement Exams are approaching.  Grade 6 students have been using the new Vretta platform for practice exams in order to prepare for June 19th and June 20th when they write the PATs.

PAT Exams this year are as scheduled:

  • June 19th - PAT Grade 6 only Social Studies
  • June 20 -PAT Grade 6 only Science

In order for students to be successful during PATs it is important that students get plenty of rest, sleep the night before.  Make sure to have a healthy breakfast, bring a snack and water to have during the exam.

STUDENT PICK-UP AT THE END OF THE DAY

We are asking parents to please wait at the bottom of the stairs when picking up their child at the end of the day.  Teachers for Kindergarten and Grade 1 will bring their students outside to meet their parents and we need to clear the doors for everyone.  Thank you for understanding.

We also ask that any parents who arrive after 3:15PM to wait outside to pick up their child at 3:30PM.  It is very difficult to call classrooms during the last 15 minutes of the day, we are receiving too many requests to page classrooms at this time. Thank you for your understanding.

FIELD TRIPS AND VOLUNTEER CHECKS

Many field trips are happening in the next few months and we encourage parents to volunteer with their child’s class if possible.  Please make sure you have been cleared as a volunteer.  The process can be completed online through your MyCBE Account.  If you have any questions, please contact the office 403-777-6290.
