Label Your Child's Belongings

Parents are advised to label or mark all of their child’s shoes, coats, bags, boots and mittens with the child’s name. This will help us return lost articles to the right child. Labeling saves time for staff and tears for children.

Lost & Found

Students are advised to check the school's Lost and Found area for any items that may have been misplaced. Items not claimed by the end of the school year will be donated.

Bicycles, Scooters, Skateboards & Heelys

We certainly encourage active living practices with children such as riding a bicycle to school. Upon arrival at the school and for the safety of all students, cyclists are expected to walk bicycles on school grounds during school hours. When bicycles are brought to school they should be locked in the bicycle rack provided.

The school cannot be responsible for bicycles damaged or stolen while they are at school. In addition, safety regulations require that skateboards, roller blades and Heelys are not to be brought to school or used on school property.

Personal Electronic Devices

Cell Phones and Personal Devices

Cell phones and other personal devices are not to be used for any reason during instructional hours unless permission is given by a teacher or other staff member.  If they cause disruptions in the classroom, they may be confiscated for the duration of the class or, depending on the circumstance, the student may be referred to administration and the phone may be returned only to a parent.

Photography

In order to respect the privacy of students and staff and in accordance with CBE Administrative Regulations, cameras may only be used during the school day if required for a classroom project and with teacher permission. For any other reason, permission must be granted by school administration and consents obtained where necessary.

Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school. Students who disregard this policy will have that device confiscated and returned at the end of the day to either the student or his/her parent.
