Our Programs
Regular Program at the CBE
Even though most of our schools offer a regular program, no two are quite the same. All schools teach according to Alberta Education’s mandated curriculum, however a school’s focus, optional courses and school activities are as unique as every school.
Learning at Mayland Heights School
As teachers, parents, community partners, and students, we live within a learning community that explores the world.
- Teachers are involved in inquiry about best learning practice. Our present focus: improving learning through multiple literacies (including mathematical literacy) and Inquiry-based learning processes.
- Students use inquiry to learn about the world around them, integrating subjects to increase understanding and relevance.
- Parents explore how to best support student learning and how to increase parent participation in the school. How do we work together to create a learning community where everyone feels safe, valued, and connected?
- Business partners (Intergraph, 7-11, Panago’s Pizza) explore ways to be significantly involved in our children’s learning and how to increase student engagement in school.
