Bussing and Traffic Safety
We need help from all the parents to help our buses make their way to the school safely. We are having several issues with parents blocking the street in the mornings and afternoons and the buses cannot travel on Maunsell Drive NE safely. This is causing delays for students to arrive at school on time and at their bus stop home in the afternoon. You can help by parking further away and walking to the school. Avoid making U-Turns in the street, make sure you park your vehicle correctly by the sidewalk. Traffic Safety Officers will be monitoring the traffic as our Mayland Heights neighbours are concerned when parents block their driveways or alleys. Thank you for helping us keep all our students safe.
.
Parents and Visitors in the School
All parents and visitors are required to report to the office. Parents are not permitted to travel in the school hallways without being accompanied by a staff member. We ask all parents to say their goodbyes at the front door in the morning and allow their children to build independence by entering the building on their own and carrying their personal items themselves (backpacks, lunch box and shoes). This is to ensure safety for all students and staff at Mayland Heights. We thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding.
End of Day Dismissal
We ask parents to please wait for their children outside the front doors, below the stairs in the afternoons in order for the classes to be dismissed safely. We will not be calling students down to the office after 3:15PM.
