Families have already received the consent forms and returned these to the school nurse.  Students without a consent will not be vaccinated.  The nurses will be in touch with you if any documentation is needed.

Parent -Teacher Conferences Nov 28 and 29th

Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.

Used Book Fair at Mayland Heights -Nov 28- 29

This year we will be hosting a Used Book Fair during Parent Teacher Interviews in November.  We are looking to collect any used books in good condition to add to the sale.  Books will be very reasonably priced so that all students can purchase a book to add to their home library.  We are hoping to have books for all ages in our used sale, including cook books or comic books. Please send in your gently used book donations to the office until November 22.  All proceeds of the sale will go to support the Outdoor Learning Space to be built in the spring of 2025.

CGY Champs Launch Assembly

Mayland Heights has been selected to host  the CGY Champs Launch Assembly on November 20th! This event will feature two Calgary Flames players and special guests from the Stampeders and Hitmen! 🏒🏈 CGY Champs is powered by the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) and Classroom Champions and proudly presented by Desjardins Insurance. It’s a dynamic program that teaches wellness skills through athlete-led lessons. We’re so excited to bring this to your students and school.  Due to capacity constraints, we are unable to accommodate parents to the assembly.  We will share photos on our Website and Instagram account with parents afterwards.  In order to participate in the assembly, ALL students must complete the attached Consent Form as Media will be present. Consent Forms must be returned to the school by Tuesday, November 19th to the office.  Any students who are not provided consent or do not return their form will sit at the back of the gym to avoid video and photos.  Parents are free to give consent or not.

Mayland Heights Cultural Showcase 6-8PM (Sign up required to reserve a table)

We are celebrating a special Cultural Evening Showcase on Thursday, December 5th, from  6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to celebrate the many wonderful cultures our students come from  at our school. We  are inviting parents to sign up if they would like to share their culture with us.  If you are interested in sharing your culture, we will  have a table for you so you can set up a display and share information about your language, your country of origin, etc. and/or use it to serve foods, display objects, show a dance, etc. with our school community.  Parents who sign up will have a designated table/space in our gym.  We have limited room and space, so sign up quickly.  Families of the same culture can also choose to pair up together to share.  Please note that the school doors will open at 5:30 to help families set up their table/space. Thank you for sharing your culture with all of us! We are looking forward to learn more about your culture!  Submissions are being accepted until December 1st, 2024.  (Sign up required to reserve a table)
