Parent -Teacher Conferences Nov 28 and 29th
Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.

Used Book Fair at Mayland Heights -Nov 28- 29
This year we will be hosting a Used Book Fair during Parent Teacher Interviews in November. We are looking to collect any used books in good condition to add to the sale. Books will be very reasonably priced so that all students can purchase a book to add to their home library. We are hoping to have books for all ages in our used sale, including cook books or comic books. Please send in your gently used book donations to the office until November 22. All proceeds of the sale will go to support the Outdoor Learning Space to be built in the spring of 2025.
Food Can Drive at Mayland Heights School
We are thrilled to announce Mayland Heights School is once again participating in the "Can Drive" initiative, dedicated to supporting our local Calgary Food Bank and Veterans Food Bank of Calgary. We are collecting non-perishable food items to assist those in need within our community. Your involvement is greatly appreciated. We invite you if you are able to donate items such as canned vegetables, fruits, pasta, rice, and other shelf-stable foods. To motivate participation, the class that collects the most donations will receive a special treat from the Parent Council. This initiative offers a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about the significance of giving back and helping others. Please send your donations to school from November 25th to December 18th, 2024. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of families who depend on the food banks.

Mayland Heights Cultural Showcase 6-8PM (Sign up required to reserve a table)
We are celebrating a special Cultural Evening Showcase on Thursday, December 5th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to celebrate the many wonderful cultures our students come from at our school. We are inviting parents to sign up if they would like to share their culture with us. If you are interested in sharing your culture, we will have a table for you so you can set up a display and share information about your language, your country of origin, etc. and/or use it to serve foods, display objects, show a dance, etc. with our school community. Parents who sign up will have a designated table/space in our gym. We have limited room and space, so sign up quickly. Families of the same culture can also choose to pair up together to share. Please note that the school doors will open at 5:30 to help families set up their table/space. Thank you for sharing your culture with all of us! We are looking forward to learn more about your culture! Submissions are being accepted until December 3rd, 2024. (Sign up required to reserve a table)
