French Immersion Program Monitoring Committee
We are looking for a couple of parents to join our French Immersion Program Monitoring Committee to help us look at our enrollment numbers, the attrition rate, the current practices and suggest new pathways to improve the French Immersion Program. The committee will meet 3 -4 times this year to examine the data collected through surveys. The surveys will be shared with parents, teachers, students and CBE representatives. If you are interested in participating in this committee please contact our Principal, Mrs. Korpela ickorpela@cbe.ab.ca
Loaner Chromebooks to be Returned
Last school year several families were permitted to borrow a chromebook to assist their child’s learning at home. We are still missing a few to be returned to the school. We ask families to do so as soon as possible so that we can re-image the devices. Thank you for your cooperation.
Parent Pick Up and Drop Off
An important reminder for parents:
- pull over and park to drop off their children.
- always use the door on the side of the sidewalk.
- do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off.
We have seen too many near misses lately and we are concerned. Thank you for your cooperation.
Lost and Found Items
Jackets, snow pants, hats and gloves are filling our bins. Please remind your child to look for their personal items. All remaining clothing will be donated to charity at the end of day on November 30th.
School Council and Fundraising Association Meeting
Please take a moment to look at the School Council and Parent Society draft minutes from the previous meeting. All parents are welcome to attend these meetings to learn about events happening in the school and also help the executive group organize events for our students at Mayland Heights.
The newly elected executive is excited to meet parents and commence their work during our next meeting. We hope to see you there on Wednesday, November 29th, the meeting starts at 6:30pm in the library, parents can also join online using the following link. School Council Meeting Link
