Parent -Teacher Interviews

Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.

Friday, November 23, 2023 - 9:00AM to 12:00PM

How to Book a School Conference

  1. Log-in to MyCBE. If you do not have an account, follow the Create a MyCBE Account instructions.
  2. Click on the My School Conferences icon.
  3. Click on the time slot that is available and convenient for you. Ensure pop-up windows are allowed.
  4. In the pop-up window, you will choose your child (you have the option to enter the student's name), the name of the parent / guardian is pre-filled, but can also be changed.


Parent Pick Up and Drop Off

An important reminder for parents:

  • pull over and park to drop off their children.  
  • always use the door on the side of the sidewalk. 
  • do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off. 

 We have seen too many near misses lately and we are concerned.  Thank you for your cooperation. Thank you to all parents who are taking a few extra moments each day to ensure safety for all students by parking outside of the Bus Zone. 


Grade Configuration Changes for FI at Mayland Heights

To balance enrolment between schools in east and northeast Calgary, the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) will be implementing a grade configuration change to the French Immersion program at Mayland Heights and Bob Edwards Schools. These changes will help balance system enrollment and allow more students to attend school closer to home.

Effective for the 2024-25 school year and beyond, the following changes will be implemented:

  • Mayland Heights School will change from a kindergarten to Grade 5 to a kindergarten to Grade 6 configuration for the Early French Immersion program starting in the 2024-25 school year.
  • The Grade 6 Intensive French program will be offered at Mayland Heights starting in the 2024-25 school year.  
  • Bob Edwards School will offer a Grade 7 to 9 Early and Late French Immersion programs starting in the 2024-25 school year.

These changes mean that current Grade 5 Early French Immersion program students will remain at Mayland Heights School next school year.


Visitors in our School

At Mayland Heights School, we strive to provide a safe and caring learning environment for all our staff and students.  To maintain this level of safety, we are asking all parents to check in to the office if they arrive at the school to pick up their child.  

PM Kindergarten:  The teacher will wait at the front entrance for the afternoon students, the doors will open  at 12:35 PM, please make sure to arrive on time.  Thank you for your understanding and collaboration.


Trading Cards / Pokemon Cards 

A reminder that any type of trading cards are not permitted at school or on the school bus. These cards are to be kept at home.  The school is not responsible for any missing cards.
