Parent -Teacher Interviews

Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.

Loaner Chromebooks to be Returned

Last school year several families were permitted to borrow a chromebook to assist their child’s learning at home.  We are still missing a few to be returned to the school.  We ask families to do so as soon as possible so that we can re-image the devices.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Parent Pick Up and Drop Off

An important reminder for parents:

  • pull over and park to drop off their children.
  • always use the door on the side of the sidewalk.
  • do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off.

We have seen too many near misses lately and we are concerned.  Thank you for your cooperation. Thank you to all parents who are taking a few extra moments each day to ensure safety for all students by parking outside of the Bus Zone.

Visitors in our School

At Mayland Heights School, we strive to provide a safe and caring learning environment for all our staff and students.  To maintain this level of safety, we are asking all parents to check in to the office if they arrive at the school to pick up their child.

PM Kindergarten:  The teacher will wait at the front entrance for the afternoon students, the doors will open  at 12:35 PM, please make sure to arrive on time.  Thank you for your understanding and collaboration.

Lost and Found Items

Our lost and found items are growing rapidly.  Jackets, snow pants, hats and gloves are already filling our bins.  Please remind your child to look for their personal items.  All the lost and found items will be displayed during parent teacher conferences on November 23 and 24th.  Please take a moment to look through and reclaim your family’s items.  All remaining clothing will be donated to charity at the end of day on November 24th..

School Council and Fundraising Association Meeting

Please take a moment to look at the School Council and Parent Society draft minutes from the previous meeting.  All parents are welcome to attend these meetings to learn about events happening in the school and also help the executive group organize events for our students at Mayland Heights.

The newly elected executive is excited to meet parents and commence their work during our next meeting.  We hope to see you there on Wednesday, November 29th, the meeting starts at 6:30pm in the library, parents can also join online using the following link. School Council Meeting Link
